How to Grant Course Access With Workflows in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Use a Sparkforge workflow with a trigger like form submission or payment completed, then add the Course Grant Offer action to enroll members automatically.

Workflows enroll members into Sparkforge courses without manual touches. Define a trigger, add the Course Grant Offer action, and access is given the moment the condition fires.

Why use workflows for course access

  • Scale: No manual enrollment, no missed signups.
  • Speed: Members get access the moment payment or signup completes.
  • Fewer errors: No risk of forgetting to enroll someone or assigning the wrong offer.
  • Flexible triggers: Form submitted, payment completed, tag added, and more.

Build the workflow

Step 1: Open Workflows

  1. Sign in to your sub-account.
  2. Go to Automation > Workflows.

Step 2: Create a workflow

  1. Click + Create Workflow.
  2. Start from scratch, a template, or AI.

Step 3: Add a trigger

  1. Pick a trigger such as Form Submitted or Payment Completed.
  2. Filter to the specific form or payment source.

Step 4: Add the action

  1. Add the Course Grant Offer action.
  2. Pick the course or membership offer to grant.

Step 5: Test and publish

  1. Run a test and confirm access is granted and any follow-up emails fire.
  2. Toggle the workflow to Publish, then Save.

Welcome email gotcha

If a workflow includes a Welcome Email step, the system disables the default Welcome Email from Membership Settings. Pick one method only: enable it in Membership Settings, or program it inside the workflow. Don't do both.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why isn't my Welcome Email from Membership Settings sending?
You likely have a Welcome Email step inside a workflow. Sparkforge disables the default Welcome Email when a workflow handles it. Pick one method, not both.
Can I run multiple workflows for different courses?
Yes. Create a separate workflow per course or offer so triggers and actions match each one.
What happens if a payment fails?
Build the workflow to handle failures: notify the user, hold access until payment clears, or revoke access if needed.
Can I trigger email campaigns alongside the grant?
Yes. Add email steps before or after Course Grant Offer to send welcome messages, lesson reminders, or completion follow-ups.
