How to Add Task Events and Reminders to Sparkforge Campaigns
Task events drop an internal to-do (with a name, due date, priority, and assignee) into a campaign step so your team gets reminded when a contact hits a specific point. Task reminder triggers fire automations based on how those tasks are handled.
Task events let you bake internal action items directly into a campaign. When a contact reaches a specific step — an opt-in, a missed booking, an unanswered text — a task lands on the assigned team member's list with a name, due date, priority, and notes. Task reminder triggers go the other direction: they kick off automations based on what your team does (or doesn't do) with those tasks.
Add a task event to a campaign step
Inside the campaign builder, add a Task event step. Configure:
- Task name — short, action-oriented ("Call back lead").
- Due date — relative to the campaign step or a fixed date.
- Priority — low, medium, high.
- Assignee — a specific staff member, the contact's assigned user, or a round-robin.
- Notes — context the assignee needs to act.
Set up a task reminder trigger
Task reminder triggers fire on task lifecycle events: completed, assigned, overdue, status changed. Use them to chain follow-up actions — send a thank-you email when a task is marked complete, escalate to a manager when one goes overdue, or update a CRM field when status flips.
When to use each
- Task event: you want to assign work mid-campaign. ("Call this lead 24 hours after they book.")
- Task reminder trigger: you want automation to react to how the team handles tasks. ("If a task is overdue by 1 day, send the manager an SMS.")
