How to Add and Manage Customer Cards on File in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge fetches cards on file from your payment provider in real time so you can view, add, or delete them per contact. Card data is never stored on the platform; only the last digits and expiry display in the UI.

Cards on file speed up repeat charges by letting you reuse a customer's saved payment method instead of asking for card details every time. Sparkforge does not store full card numbers on the platform: the last 3 or 4 digits, expiry date, and provider are fetched fresh from your payment provider whenever you open the card list.

Where to find it

Open Contacts > Contact Details > '$' icon (Payments) > Actions.

Add a card on file (web)

  1. Click Add Card on File under Actions.
  2. Enter card number, expiry, CVV, and country.
  3. Verify and click Add Card.

Both live and test mode cards are supported.

View cards on file

  1. Click Manage Cards under Actions.
  2. The list shows last digits, expiry, and any label, fetched fresh from your provider.

Live and test mode cards display in their respective lists.

Delete a card

  1. Find the card in the list.
  2. Click Delete next to it.
  3. Confirm in the prompt.

If the card is tied to an active subscription, the prompt warns you. Deleting anyway leaves that subscription with no payment method for auto-deduction.

Manage cards on file in the mobile app

Add a card

  1. Open the Sparkforge mobile app.
  2. Go to Contacts and select the contact.
  3. Open the Payments tab.
  4. Tap Manage Cards, then New card.
  5. Enter the card details and save.

Use a saved card

Saved cards appear as available payment methods on payment-related records tied to that contact:

  • Transactions
  • Invoices
  • Estimates
  • In-person charges

Remove a card on mobile

  1. Open Manage Cards for the contact.
  2. Swipe left on the card you want to remove.
  3. Tap Delete or Remove.
  4. Confirm.

Why this matters operationally

  • Faster repeat payments: reuse stored cards without re-collecting details.
  • Cleaner contact records: payment methods stay attached to the right customer.
  • Mobile-first workflows: field teams can charge without leaving the app.
