Set or Reset Membership Portal Passwords in Sparkforge
Sparkforge sends a magic link email when access is granted. Members click the link, set their own password, and log in. Forgotten passwords use the same flow with a 2-hour reset link.
Sparkforge does not generate passwords for members. When access is granted, the system emails a magic link. The member clicks it and sets their own password. The same flow handles password resets.
How members get the magic link
Checkout
After a buyer completes checkout for a course or membership offer, Sparkforge enrolls them and sends the magic link email automatically.
Manual enrollment
An admin opens the contact, picks the offer from the dropdown, and grants access. The same magic link email fires.
Workflows or smart lists
Triggers like Offer Access Granted or Membership New Signup send the magic link as part of the automation.
Thank-you page
After signup, the user sees a confirmation with a View Dashboard button that prompts them to set a password.
Setting the password
The link opens a page where the member creates their password. Once set, they're redirected to the course or membership dashboard.
Password reset flow
- The member clicks Forgot Password on the login page.
- They enter their email and receive a reset link.
- The link opens the password setter and signs them in after reset.
The reset link expires in 2 hours. During reset or change, the member can choose to invalidate all active sessions across devices, useful if the account is signed in somewhere they don't recognize.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm the contact's email address is correct.
- Check the email delivery logs for bounces or spam filtering.
- Verify SPF and DKIM are set up for your sending domain.
- Resend the password setup email if needed.
