Hide Third-Party Calendar Details in Sparkforge
Private Mode for synced events keeps Google and Outlook calendar details visible only to the user who connected the calendar. Toggle it under Settings > My Profile or Calendar Settings > Connections.
Private Mode for synced events lets each user keep their third-party calendar details private. When it's on, only the user who connected the calendar can see event titles and details inside Sparkforge. Other team members still see the time as busy.
Where to enable Private Mode
You can find the toggle in two places. Either one updates the same setting.
From My Profile
- Go to Settings > My Profile.
- Scroll to Calendar Configuration.
- Toggle Private Mode for Synced Events on or off.
From Calendar Connections
- Go to Calendar Settings > Connections.
- Scroll to Private Mode for Synced Events.
- Toggle on or off.
This feature ships through Labs and is on by default for all users, so synced events are private until you change the setting.
What it covers
- Google and Outlook calendars: fully supported. Public and private events both honor the toggle.
- iCloud calendars: not supported. iCloud has no private/public event flag, so iCloud events stay visible to everyone.
How private events behave
If an individual event is marked private inside Google or Outlook, Sparkforge hides it automatically — even if the Hide Events toggle is off.
If Hide Events is on, every synced event (private or public) shows as Busy with no title or details.
