How to Export Transactions as CSV in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Export transactions to CSV from Payments → Transactions in Sparkforge. The file arrives by email as a 7-day download link and uses a multi-row format where products, taxes, and fees each get their own row under a shared transaction ID.

The Transactions CSV export delivers detailed payment records for reporting, reconciliation, accounting, and compliance. This guide covers how to run an export, how delivery works, and how to read the multi-row format.

How to export transactions

  1. Go to Payments → Transactions.
  2. Apply filters or search if you need a subset (date range, payment status, source type).
  3. Click the Download icon.
  4. A secure download link is emailed to the logged-in user.

The link is valid for 7 days and unique to the requesting user. If it expires, just generate a new export.

Email delivery

  • Export link arrives within minutes
  • Download via the email link, not in-app
  • If the link expires, generate a new export

CSV structure

One row does not always equal one transaction. A single transaction can include multiple products, multiple taxes (one row per unique tax name per product), and miscellaneous charges like processing fees, late fees, or tips. Each financial component is separately identifiable.

If a transaction spans multiple rows, only one row carries the full transaction-level data. Other rows carry the unique product or tax detail for that line.

Data consistency

0 vs blank values

  • 0 appears only when the field applies and the value is truly zero.
  • Blank appears only when the field does not apply to that row or record.

Stable structure for reporting

  • Column ordering is consistent for pivots, imports, and BI pipelines.
  • Multi-row formatting is intentional for product-level and tax-level allocation. Do not assume one row equals one transaction.

Formatting notes

  • Multiple products create multiple rows under the same transaction id.
  • Multiple taxes generate one row per tax per product. Two products with two tax rates each = four line item rows total.
  • Combined payments (e.g., card plus gift card) appear distinctly in value columns. Aggregate carefully when filtering by totals.
  • Tax rate precision — tax rate percentages export with 4 decimals (for example, 7.1250%). Tax amounts are rounded to 2 decimals based on currency standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does a single transaction show multiple rows in the CSV?
Products are tracked per line item and tax details are tracked per unique tax name per product. This is standard for accounting-grade reporting.
Why does Total Amount Due differ from Total Amount Paid?
Processing charges, tips, and partial payments affect the final paid amount but not the original due amount.
Why are some transactions missing from my export?
Check that filters are cleared and the date range is correct.
Will the export include failed transactions?
Yes, unless you filter to only Successful or Refunded statuses.
Can I regenerate a previously exported file?
Yes. You can run the export again at any time.
