How to Embed External Content on a Sparkforge Dashboard

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Embed element on a Sparkforge dashboard accepts a URL or full iframe snippet to display YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Google Docs, Loom, social feeds, and more. Some platforms block embedding.

The Embed element lets you display third-party content directly on a Sparkforge dashboard — videos, social posts, docs, slideshows, calendars, and more. If the source platform allows embedding, it will render. If not, the source blocks it and the embed will fail.

Add an Embed element

  1. Go to Subaccount > Dashboard and click the pencil to enter Edit mode.
  2. Click the Elements tab.
  3. Click Embed.
  4. Enter a title and pick the embed type:
    • URL — paste a fully qualified URL with no extra content. Example: https://www.instagram.com/p/C04TE0DsEkW/embed/
    • IFRAME — paste a complete <iframe> snippet.
  5. Optionally hide the title under Advanced Settings.
  6. Click Save.

Embed YouTube

Take the video ID from the URL (the part after v=). Append it to https://www.youtube.com/embed/.

Example: for https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFTIQDCvIrc, use https://www.youtube.com/embed/bFTIQDCvIrc.

Embed TikTok

Take the video ID (the part after /video/) and append it to https://www.tiktok.com/embed/.

Embed Instagram

Get the share link, which looks like:

https://www.instagram.com/p/C04TE0DsEkW/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Replace ?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link with /embed/:

https://www.instagram.com/p/C04TE0DsEkW/embed/

Paste this final URL into the Embed element.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my embed show a blank box?
The source platform is blocking embedding. Sites like LinkedIn, paywalled news, or some banking dashboards refuse to render in iframes. There's no workaround on the Sparkforge side.
Can I embed Google Docs and Sheets?
Yes. Use the Publish to web URL from Google Docs or Sheets, then paste it into the Embed element as a URL.
Do I use URL or IFRAME mode?
Use URL when the platform gives you a clean embed link (YouTube /embed/, Instagram /embed/). Use IFRAME when the platform gives you a full iframe snippet to copy (like OpenStreetMap).
How do I resize the embed?
Open the element settings on the right sidebar and adjust the height. Width follows the column it's placed in.
