How to Duplicate Triggers Across Sub-Accounts in Sparkforge
Open the trigger, use the Actions dropdown, choose Duplicate Trigger, name the copy, and select destination sub-accounts. All copies arrive in draft mode and need manual activation.
If the same trigger should run in several client locations, duplicating beats rebuilding. Sparkforge copies the trigger configuration into every location you pick.
Workflows are the modern replacement for triggers and support copying across locations the same way. New automation should be built as a workflow.
Duplicate a trigger
- Open Triggers in the client view.
- Click the trigger you want to copy.
- Click the Actions dropdown in the top right.
- Select Duplicate Trigger.
- Enter a new name for the copy.
- Pick the client locations where the trigger should be created.
- Click Save.
After duplication
- Every duplicated trigger lands in Draft mode. Open it in each location and activate before it will fire.
- Review filters that reference users, calendars, pipelines, or tags — these IDs differ per location and may need to be re-mapped.
- Test the trigger in one location before activating across all duplicates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will duplicated triggers run automatically?
No. Every duplicated trigger arrives in draft mode. You have to open the trigger in each destination location and activate it manually.
Do filters carry over correctly?
The filter logic copies, but references to users, calendars, pipelines, or tags use IDs that exist only in the source location. Re-map those references in each destination.
Can I duplicate to a single location?
Yes. Pick one location in the destination selector and click Save. Duplication works for one or many destinations.
Should I be using workflows instead of triggers?
For new automation, yes. Workflows cover everything triggers do plus multi-step logic and branching. Existing triggers continue to run.
