How to Set Course Notification Preferences in the Client Portal
Sparkforge Client Portal owners can toggle course-related email notifications on or off and edit each template. Settings live under Sites or Memberships > Client Portal > Settings > Email Settings > Courses.
The Sparkforge Client Portal lets you control which course emails go out and what they say. Owners can switch each course notification on or off, preview the active template, and swap in a custom email design.
What you can control
- On/off per event: enable or disable notifications for course-specific events like enrollment, lesson completion, and certificate issuance.
- Template content: tailor every course email through the Email Builder.
- Single source of truth: all child-app notifications live in one place inside the Client Portal.
How to set course notification preferences
- Log in to your sub-account.
- Go to Sites > Client Portal > Settings (or Memberships > Client Portal > Settings).
- Open Email Settings > Courses.
- Use the checkboxes to enable or disable each course email.
- Click the eye icon to preview the current template.
- Click Default Template to swap or edit the template.
Why use it
Course notifications keep students engaged without flooding their inbox. Tailored templates feel personal, and centralizing controls in the Client Portal cuts the time spent hunting for settings across sub-tools.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I find course notification settings in Sparkforge?
Sub-account > Sites > Client Portal > Settings > Email Settings > Courses. The same path works under Memberships > Client Portal > Settings.
Can I edit the email template that gets sent for course events?
Yes. Click the Default Template button next to any course email type to pick a different template or open the Email Builder and edit the existing one.
Do I have to send every course notification?
No. Each course email type has its own checkbox. Disable the ones you don't want and leave the rest on.
Will turning off a course notification stop in-app alerts too?
These settings control email notifications. In-app alerts in the Client Portal are managed separately under the broader notification preferences.
