Add a Consent Checkbox to Sparkforge Calendar Booking Forms

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge calendar forms can include a consent checkbox to capture A2P 10DLC-compliant SMS opt-in along with the contact's IP address. It is on by default and the text is editable.

If your booking form collects phone numbers, you need written consent before texting those contacts. Sparkforge calendar forms include a consent checkbox built for A2P 10DLC compliance.

How the consent checkbox works

When you select a default form in Calendar Settings, a Show consent checkbox option appears. It is enabled by default. Keep it on so every booking captures:

  • The text the contact agreed to.
  • The contact's IP address at the moment of consent.
  • The timestamp tied to the appointment record.

You can edit the consent text to match your brand voice and any specific compliance language your industry needs. The checkbox itself does not support HTML or links, so privacy and terms links go elsewhere on the form (description block, page footer).

Where to view a contact's consent record

From the appointment list

Click the three-dot menu on the appointment and choose View Consent. The dialog shows the consent text and metadata.

From the contact's activity tab

An icon appears next to appointments where consent was captured. Click it to see the consent text the contact accepted and their IP address at signup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I put my Privacy Policy link inside the consent checkbox text?
No. The checkbox label does not support HTML or clickable links. Put your Privacy Policy and Terms links in a description block or page footer on the form, then reference them in the consent text.
Is the consent checkbox required for SMS compliance?
Yes if you intend to text the number. A2P 10DLC rules require explicit, recorded consent before sending SMS to a number. The checkbox produces that record.
Can I customize the consent text?
Yes. The wording is fully editable in Calendar Settings — change it to match your brand and any industry-specific compliance language.
Where is consent stored after the booking?
On the appointment record. View it from the appointment three-dot menu (View Consent) or from the contact's Activity tab. Both views show the accepted text and the contact's IP at signup.
Does this work if I disable the checkbox?
You can disable it, but then you have no record of SMS consent — which means you cannot legally text those numbers under A2P 10DLC.
