Sparkforge Calendar Availability: Weekly and Date-Specific Hours
Weekly Working Hours set your repeating schedule. Date-Specific Hours override that schedule for individual dates like holidays. To extend a day, enter the full hours you want available — not just the extra time.
Calendar availability controls when contacts can book on your Sparkforge calendar. Two settings work together: Weekly Working Hours establish your normal schedule, and Date-Specific Hours override that schedule for individual dates.
Date-Specific Hours always take precedence. Any date with date-specific hours ignores the weekly pattern entirely.
Weekly Working Hours
This is your repeating schedule — the baseline that applies week after week. If you take bookings Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8 AM to 10 PM, set those hours once and the system applies them every week.
How to set Weekly Working Hours
- Go to Calendars > Calendar Settings and click Edit Calendar.
- Select Availability in the left menu, then click the user's name under Booking Availability.
- In Weekly Working Hours, click Edit and set hours for each day.
- Use Copy to apply one day's settings to others.
- Click Save.
Date-Specific Hours
Use these for one-off changes — holidays, vacations, special events, doctor's appointments. Any date with date-specific hours stops following the weekly pattern.
Common uses:
- Holidays. Mark Christmas, Easter, or bank holidays as unavailable so the calendar reflects that you're closed.
- Personal commitments. Block off specific times without creating manual blocked slots.
- Extended hours. Open earlier or stay later for a special event.
Important: extending a day
If your weekly hours are 9 AM–5 PM and you want Tuesday to run 9 AM–8 PM, set date-specific hours for the full 9 AM–8 PM range. Setting only 5 PM–8 PM will replace the weekly pattern entirely, leaving 9 AM–5 PM unavailable on that date.
How to set Date-Specific Hours
- Go to Settings > Calendars > [Select Calendar] > Availability.
- In Date-Specific Hours, click + Add Date-Specific Hours.
- Pick one or more dates in the date picker.
- Set start and end times.
- Click Save.
How date grouping works
When you save the same hours across multiple dates, Sparkforge groups them in the list:
- Consecutive dates appear as a single grouped range.
- Non-consecutive dates appear as separate ranges.
Example: select Jan 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 9. The list shows Jan 2–5 as one entry and Jan 8–9 as another. Each grouped entry can be edited or deleted independently.
