How to Configure Payment Providers by Channel in Sparkforge
Channel-level payment configuration lets you assign different providers to funnels, forms, stores, and invoices instead of relying on one global default. Channel settings override the global default automatically.
Channel-level payment configuration lets you assign specific providers to funnels, forms, stores, and invoices. Instead of one global default, payments route based on where the transaction happens — useful for fee optimization, regional providers, and safer testing.
Why use channel-level providers
- More flexibility — different providers for different sales experiences.
- Better optimization — route by fee, region, or provider strength.
- Safer testing — try a new provider in Test mode without touching live transactions.
- Cleaner setup — no constant default-provider switching.

How provider selection works
- Priority: channel-level settings override the global default.
- Fallback: if no channel provider is set, the global default is used.
- Available providers: only providers connected at the account level appear in the dropdown.
Supported combinations
- PayPal + one other provider (Stripe or NMI).
- Multiple non-PayPal providers together is not supported (no Stripe + NMI).
- PayPal can be added or removed alongside another provider.
- PayPal cannot be directly replaced — remove it first, then add the new one.
Live Mode vs Test Mode
- Live Mode: real customer transactions.
- Test Mode: testing flows without processing real payments.
Each mode can have different providers per channel, so you can validate integrations without risk.
Configure providers by channel
- Go to Payments.
- Click Integrations.
- Click Configure Providers.
- Toggle between Live or Test mode.
- Select the provider(s) for each channel.
Add a provider
Click the + next to a channel and pick from the dropdown of connected providers (Stripe, PayPal, Square, etc.). Add PayPal plus one additional provider.
Remove a provider
Click the X next to the provider and confirm.
Reset a channel
Resetting clears custom configuration and reverts the channel to the global default provider.
