Reorder the Sparkforge Calendar Widget Steps

The NEO calendar widget lets you drag and reorder the Date & Time Selector and Form steps. Putting the form first captures lead info even if no slot is booked; putting date first books the slot before the form fills.

The Calendar Widget Reorder feature lets you choose the order of the steps on the NEO booking widget: Date & Time Selector, Form, and Payment (when enabled). The order you pick determines whether you capture lead info before or after the slot is reserved.

Available on the NEO Widget only.

Reorder the widget steps

  1. Open Calendar Settings and select your calendar.
  2. Go to Forms & Payments.
  3. Drag the Date & Time Selector and Form into the order you want.
  4. Click Save.

How each order behaves

Date Picker first, Form second

  • The user picks a slot, fills out the form, and books.
  • The contact and the appointment are both created when the form submits.

Form first, Date Picker second

  • The user fills out the form first.
  • A contact is created the moment the form submits — even if they never finish booking.
  • If they pick a slot, the appointment is created at that point.

How payments fit in

When payments are enabled, the user has 10 minutes to complete payment after picking a slot. If payment succeeds, the appointment is booked. If 10 minutes pass without payment, the slot reopens for someone else.

The four valid configurations are:

  1. Date Picker first, payment disabled.
  2. Date Picker first, payment enabled.
  3. Form first, payment disabled.
  4. Form first, payment enabled.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if someone clicks back and resubmits the form?
Multiple form submissions appear in the contact record, but the latest submission's data overwrites the contact fields.
When do form submission workflows fire?
If form is first, they fire as soon as the form submits. If form is second, they fire only after the appointment books successfully.
When do appointment workflows fire?
If payment is disabled, they fire as soon as the appointment books. If payment is enabled, they fire only after payment succeeds, since the appointment isn't booked until the payment clears.
Why is a slot missing from the widget when no appointment is scheduled?
Someone is mid-payment. The slot is held for up to 10 minutes. If payment doesn't complete, the slot reopens automatically.
Does this work on all calendar widgets?
No, only the NEO Widget supports step reordering. Older widget styles use a fixed sequence.
