Bot Detection for Email Stats and Automations

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Bot detection in Sparkforge filters non-human opens and clicks so engagement metrics stay accurate and email-triggered automations only fire on real interactions.

Bots inflate open and click rates, skew decisions, and fire automations on activity that isn't a real lead. Sparkforge bot detection filters that out — quietly — so your data and workflows reflect actual people.

Where it works

Bot detection is available only for sub-accounts using Sparkforge Email or Mailgun. Other SMTP providers are not supported.

What bot detection does

  • Stops stat inflation: open and click counters do not increment when activity is identified as a bot.
  • Blocks automation triggers: workflows triggered by email opens or clicks won't fire on bot-driven events.

The result: engagement metrics reflect real recipients, and automations stay aligned with real intent.

How to enable or disable it

Bot detection is off by default. Turn it on in your Business Profile.

  1. Go to Settings → Business Profile.
  2. Scroll to the General section.
  3. Check the box to enable bot detection, or uncheck to disable.

Changes apply immediately to future sends.
