How to Assign User Permissions for the Payments Module
Sparkforge replaces the single "Payments" permission block with six modules so you can grant precise access. Configure each module per staff member from Settings → My Staff → Roles & Permissions.
Payments permissions are now split into six modules so account owners can give each staff member exactly the access they need. Dependent permissions are enforced automatically: bulk product actions, for example, only work when Create/Edit is on.
The Six Payments Modules
- Orders — view, export, import, and collect payments (including partial payments).
- Subscriptions — create, modify, pause, resume, cancel, export, and manage payment method updates.
- Transactions — view, refund, export, import, and download receipts.
- Taxes — view and configure tax settings, manage manual tax rates, and toggle automatic tax calculation.
- Products — view, create, edit, import, duplicate, bulk-manage, and delete products.
- Payment Settings — configure receipts, subscription defaults, and other payment settings.
Older permissions like Refund Transactions and Manage Subscriptions have moved into the right module. The split gives you tighter control over sensitive actions.
What You Need
- Access to Settings → My Staff with edit rights for staff roles.
- A clear picture of which staff member should handle each module.
- The staff member or role you're assigning permissions to.
How to Assign Payments Permissions
Step 1: Open Roles & Permissions
- Go to Settings → My Staff.
- Click the Edit icon next to the staff member.
- Open Roles & Permissions.
Step 2: Configure the Six Modules
You'll see Orders, Subscriptions, Transactions, Taxes, Products, and Payment Settings as separate sections. For each one:
- Tick the actions you want to grant: view, create, update, delete, export, configure.
- Dependencies are handled automatically. If a base permission is missing, related actions stay disabled.
You can also apply Assigned Data Only permissions to limit a staff member to records assigned to them.
Step 3: Save
Click Save. The new permissions take effect immediately for all modified modules.
