Reconnect an Expired Facebook Token in Sparkforge

An expired Facebook token email means the integration disconnected. Reconnect by switching to the affected account, opening Settings > Integrations, and clicking Connect under the Facebook icon.

If you received an email titled "A Facebook Token Has Expired In Your Sparkforge Account", the Facebook integration for one of your sub-accounts has disconnected. Reconnecting takes about a minute.

How to reconnect Facebook

  1. Open the Switch To An Account dropdown and select the account named in the email.
  2. In the left sidebar, scroll down and click Settings.
  3. Open Integrations from the top menu.
  4. Click Connect under the Facebook icon.
  5. In the popup, continue as yourself, select the Facebook Page you want to connect, and click Connect Page.

Why Facebook tokens expire

Facebook invalidates tokens for several reasons, most of them outside Sparkforge's control:

  • The Facebook user changed their password.
  • The token reached its natural expiration window.
  • The user de-authorized the Sparkforge app.
  • The user logged out of Facebook.
  • Page permissions or admin lists changed.
  • A team member or virtual assistant logged in from a different country without a VPN, triggering Facebook's security checks.

Reduce future disconnects

Use a dedicated Facebook account with a stable login footprint, avoid sharing credentials, and document which Page admin owns the integration. When that admin leaves, reconnect immediately rather than waiting for the next token expiry.

Long-lived Facebook tokens last about 60 days but can expire sooner if the user changes credentials, revokes access, or triggers a security review.
Will I lose conversation history when I reconnect?
