How to Use the Delete Contact Workflow Action in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Delete Contact workflow action permanently removes a contact and all associated data. Place it at the end of a workflow, double-check filters, and keep your own backups before you turn it on.

The Delete Contact workflow action removes a contact and every record tied to it from Sparkforge. Use it when contacts no longer belong in the CRM and you want the cleanup automated. Deletion is permanent, so set it up carefully.

What the Action Does

When a contact reaches a Delete Contact step in an active workflow, Sparkforge deletes the contact record along with conversations, notes, tasks, and activity history. Restoring the contact later does not recover the associated data.

How to Add the Action

Step 1: Open the Workflow Builder

Go to Sub-Account, then Automations. Open an existing workflow or create one from scratch or a recipe.

Step 2: Add the Delete Contact action

Click the + to open the actions menu. Search for Delete Contact. Place it as the last step in the workflow. Deletion is instant and ends the run, so any actions after it will not execute.

Step 3: Configure

The action has no settings. It deletes whichever contact is active in the workflow when the step fires.

Step 4: Save and test

Click Save Action, run a workflow test with safe data, and only publish once you have confirmed the filter conditions match the contacts you actually want gone.

Safer Alternatives

If you only want to stop a contact from progressing through automation, use the Remove from Workflow action instead. It keeps the contact and all their data intact.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I restore a deleted contact?
Contacts deleted through this action can be restored within two months of deletion, but the associated conversations, notes, tasks, and activity history do not come back.
What gets deleted along with the contact?

Why should the Delete Contact step go last?
Deletion is instant and ends the workflow run. Any steps placed after it will not execute.
