How to Remove Followers from an Opportunity with Sparkforge Workflows
Remove Follower(s) From Opportunity drops named users from a deal's follower list, or clears every follower at once via the Remove All toggle. It needs an opportunity in context.
The Remove Follower(s) From Opportunity action drops users from an existing deal's follower list. You can target specific users or wipe the whole follower list with one toggle.
What it does
Pick one or more users to remove. They're dropped from the opportunity's followers — they no longer get updates or visibility on that deal. Flip Remove All Followers ON to clear every follower regardless of the user list.
The action needs an opportunity in context. Without one, it skips silently.
Configuration fields
| Field | What it does | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Action Name | Internal label for the step. | Yes |
| Users | Specific users to remove from the follower list. | Required unless Remove All Followers is ON |
| Remove All Followers | When ON, clears every follower on the deal. Ignores the Users field. | No |
Edge cases
- No opportunity in context: action is skipped.
- User isn't currently a follower: nothing happens for that user. No error.
- Multiple Find Opportunity matches: only one record (earliest or latest) is affected.
- Remove All ON: the specific user list is ignored entirely.
Example: clean up followers on closed deals
- Trigger: opportunity moves to Closed.
- Action: Find Opportunity where Status is Closed.
- Action: Remove Follower(s) From Opportunity, named Clear Followers from Closed Deal. Users: Sales Team A, Sales Team B. Remove All Followers: OFF.
Only the listed users are removed. The owner stays as a follower if they were one. To clear everyone including the owner's follower status, switch Remove All Followers ON.
