Remove Opportunity Workflow Action in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Remove Opportunity action deletes a contact's opportunity from a pipeline. Choose between removing every opportunity for that contact in the selected pipeline or only the one that triggered the workflow.

The Remove Opportunity action keeps a pipeline clean by deleting opportunities that no longer belong there. Run it from a workflow when an opportunity goes stale, when a contact opts out, or when business rules say the deal is dead.

What you can remove

  • All contact opportunities in the selected pipeline.
  • The opportunity that triggered the workflow or was found in the previous action.

How to use it

  1. Open Automations > Workflows. Either click + Create Workflow or hit the three-dot menu on an existing workflow and choose Edit Workflow.
  2. Add the action. Click to add a new step and pick Remove Opportunity from the action picker.
  3. Pick a scope. Choose between removing all of the contact's opportunities in the pipeline or only the one tied to this workflow run.
  4. Save the action, then save and publish the workflow.

Recovery window

Once an opportunity is removed, you have roughly two months to recover it - one at a time, not in bulk. Treat this action as effectively destructive and gate it behind clear conditions.

Common patterns

  • Remove the triggered opportunity when a contact replies STOP or unsubscribes from sales sequences.
  • Remove all opportunities in a pipeline after a closed-lost outcome to avoid duplicate stale deals when the contact comes back later.
  • Pair with the Update Opportunity action: update on win, remove on disqualification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a removed opportunity be recovered?
Yes, within roughly two months. Recovery is one opportunity at a time, not bulk - so use this action with intent.
Will it remove every opportunity or just one?
You choose. The action lets you remove all of the contact's opportunities in the selected pipeline or only the one tied to the current workflow run.
What is the difference between Remove Opportunity and Update Opportunity?
Update Opportunity changes status, stage, or value. Remove Opportunity deletes the record entirely. Use Update for closed-won or stage moves, Remove for true disqualifications.
Can the trigger affect which opportunity is removed?
Yes. If the workflow was triggered by an opportunity event or a previous action found one, that is the opportunity the action targets when you scope to a single record.
