Workflow Action: Remove Assigned User in Sparkforge
The Remove Assigned User action clears the CRM user assignment on a contact so it can re-enter other workflows or be reassigned. There are no fields to configure beyond the action name.
The Remove Assigned User action unassigns the CRM user attached to a contact, leaving the contact with no owner. Use it when a contact's stage changes and they no longer need a specific rep, or when you want them eligible for round-robin reassignment in another workflow.
What it does
- Clears the assigned user from the contact record.
- Frees the contact to enter other workflows that depend on no owner being set.
- Runs without manual cleanup once a trigger fires.
Configure the action
- In the workflow builder, click + to add an action.
- Select Remove Assigned User.
- Name it descriptively, e.g. Reset User Assignment.
- Save. There are no other fields.
- Test the workflow, then toggle Publish.
Use cases
Pipeline cleanup on close
Trigger on Opportunity Status Changed to Closed Won or Closed Lost, then remove the assigned user so the contact is open for nurture campaigns.
Support ticket resolution
Trigger on Task Completed for a support ticket. Remove the assigned agent so they aren't carrying closed tickets and the contact can be re-routed if a new issue comes in.
Reassignment via round-robin
Pair this action with a downstream Assign User step to rotate ownership without manual handoff.
Notes
The action does not delete the contact, change tags, or remove pipeline membership. It only clears the user assignment field.
