Typeform to Sparkforge Migration Guide
Migrate from Typeform by recreating custom fields and forms in Sparkforge, exporting form responses to CSV, importing as contacts with mapped fields, and rebuilding automations as workflows.
This guide walks through migrating forms, contacts, automations, domains, and reports from Typeform into Sparkforge. Plan to migrate all five components together so nothing breaks downstream.
What to migrate
- Forms
- Contacts
- Automations
- Domains and QR codes
- Reports
Migrate forms
Step 1: Document the Typeform setup
- Log in to Typeform and open your Workspace.
- Click each form to view its questions.
- Note any logic, calculations, validation, and notification rules.
Step 2: Recreate custom fields in Sparkforge
Go to Contacts > Settings > Custom Fields. Add Custom Value Folders for each form question and create custom fields that match the data types.
Step 3: Rebuild forms in Sparkforge
- Create individual forms and surveys with the same questions.
- Match the original branding and design.
- Rebuild logic, calculations, validation, and notifications inside the form builder.
- Test every form end-to-end before going live.
Migrate contacts
Sparkforge requires email or phone for every contact. Only export Typeform responses that contain at least one of those fields.
Step 1: Export Typeform responses
- Open the form in My Workspace and go to Results > Responses.
- Select all responses with the checkbox.
- Click the download icon and export the CSV.
Step 2: Prepare the CSV
- Format dates as
YYYY-MM-DD. - Save the file in UTF-8 to preserve special characters.
- Strip line breaks, emojis, and stray characters that can break the import.
- Make sure your custom fields exist in Sparkforge first.
Step 3: Import into Sparkforge
- Open Contacts in the left menu.
- Click Import Contacts and upload the CSV.
- Map each CSV column to a Sparkforge field. Create custom fields for any unmatched columns.
- Apply tags and lists during import. Use a
Typeform Importtag so you can find this batch later. - Click Import and wait for the job to finish.
Step 4: Verify
Spot-check imported contacts and form submissions against the original Typeform export.
Migrate automations
Typeform automations can live in-app or in Slack, Zapier, or webhooks. Rebuild them as Sparkforge workflows.
- Review existing Typeform automations under the gear icon.
- For anything not handled inside the form builder, build a workflow under Automation > Workflows.
- Set triggers and actions for follow-up emails, CRM updates, and webhook calls.
- Test each workflow with a sample submission.
Migrate domains and QR codes
If you used custom domains or QR codes with Typeform, point them at the new Sparkforge form URLs. Update any printed material or campaigns referencing the old links.
Migrate reports
Sparkforge reporting covers form submissions, contact activity, and pipeline metrics. Recreate any Typeform dashboards using Sparkforge's reporting views, and export historical Typeform reports for archive.
