How to Add Sparkforge Webchat to a Squarespace Website

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Grab the embed code from Sites > Chat Widget > Get Code in Sparkforge, then paste it into Squarespace via Code Injection (Settings > Developer Tools) for the whole site, or into an Embed Block on a single page.

Squarespace handles the design. Sparkforge Webchat handles the conversation. Add the widget once and every message lands in your unified inbox.

Get the embed code

  1. In Sparkforge, open Sites > Chat Widget > Get Code.
  2. Copy the snippet.

Method 1: Squarespace Code Injection (site-wide)

  1. Log in to Squarespace and open the site you want the widget on.
  2. Click Settings in the main menu.
  3. Under Website, select Developer Tools, then Code Injection.
  4. Paste the Sparkforge embed code into the Header or Footer field.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Preview the site to confirm the chat bubble appears.

Method 2: Embed Block (single page)

  1. In the Squarespace page editor, click the section where you want the widget.
  2. Click the plus icon to add a new content block and choose Embed.
  3. Paste the embed code into the Code Snippet field.
  4. Click Apply, then save and publish the page.

Verify the install

Refresh the live page, open the chat bubble, and send a test message. The conversation should appear in your Sparkforge inbox.

Frequently Asked Questions

Header or Footer for Code Injection?
Either works. Header loads the widget slightly earlier; Footer can improve initial page paint. Pick one based on your performance preference.
Do I need a paid Squarespace plan to use Code Injection?
Yes. Squarespace requires a Business plan or higher for Code Injection. Embed Blocks work on most plans.
Can I run the widget on only certain pages?
Yes. Skip Code Injection and add the widget through an Embed Block on the specific pages where you want it.
Where do replies show up?
Inbound chats land in the Sparkforge unified inbox alongside SMS, email, and other channels.
