Set Up the Voice AI Chat Widget in Sparkforge
The Voice AI Chat Widget lets website visitors talk to your Sparkforge AI agent directly in the browser — no phone call, no app. Enable it in Labs, configure an agent, and embed the widget script.
The Voice AI Chat Widget adds a browser-based voice channel to your existing chat widget. Visitors click a microphone icon, grant permission, and talk to your AI agent in real time. No outbound calls, no phone numbers, no downloads. The feature is currently in Labs while it stabilizes for general availability.
What it does
Voice AI is a voice-only mode that runs inside the existing chat widget. Visitors can:
- Start or end a voice conversation.
- Mute and unmute the session.
- Provide contact info verbally.
- Restart by disconnecting and reconnecting.
The agent uses your configured Voice AI automations. Every Voice AI action is supported except Call Transfer, which is currently unavailable.
Capabilities
- Browser-based voice calling from the chat widget.
- No outbound call or phone number required.
- Configurable AI agent name to match your brand.
- Automatic non-recording notice for transparency.
- Built-in reCAPTCHA to prevent rapid connect/disconnect abuse.
- Compatible with existing Voice AI actions and workflows.
- Up to 100 Voice AI agents per account.
Enable the widget
Step 1: Turn it on in Labs

- Copy the generated
<script>tag. - Paste it into the Tracking Code section of your site or funnel header or footer.

Step 4: How visitors interact
- The widget shows a microphone icon when voice is enabled.
- Clicking it requests browser microphone access.
- The AI agent responds conversationally in real time.
- Visitors can start, mute, or end calls freely.
- If a visitor connects and disconnects 10+ times in 60 seconds, reCAPTCHA triggers.
Best practices
- Pick a clear, friendly agent name that fits your brand.
- Add the widget to high-intent pages: Contact, Pricing, Demo Request.
- Test microphone permissions across browsers.
- Keep background noise minimal during agent training.
- Tell users calls are not recorded for transparency.
- Monitor early Labs usage and tune the agent based on real interactions.
Security and compliance
- reCAPTCHA blocks rapid connect/disconnect abuse.
- A non-recording notice displays automatically.
- Conversations stay in the browser for privacy.
- Microphone access follows standard browser permission prompts.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Voice session won't start | Mic permission denied | Ask the visitor to allow microphone access. |
| No audio output | Speakers muted or disconnected | Check device output and browser audio settings. |
| Widget not showing | Script not installed correctly | Re-copy the script tag from the builder and paste again. |
| Frequent reCAPTCHA prompts | Rapid reconnects | Slow reconnection frequency. |
| Can't record sessions | Not supported | Recording isn't available for this feature. |
Example: Voice lead capture
Convert visitors into qualified leads through voice.
- Enable the Voice AI Chat Widget in Labs.
- Create or open a Chat Widget and pick Voice AI Agent.
- Name the agent Sales Assistant.
- Configure the Voice AI flow to greet, collect name and business details, confirm interest type, save the lead in CRM, and end politely.
- Embed the widget on Contact Us or Pricing.
The visitor clicks the mic, the agent asks questions, answers are captured automatically, and the lead lands in your CRM without a form submission.
