Sparkforge Chat Widget: Add It to Your Website in Minutes
The Sparkforge Chat Widget supports Live Chat, SMS, and WhatsApp messaging and installs on any website with a snippet of code. Pair it with a workflow trigger to get notified the moment a visitor starts a conversation.
The Sparkforge Chat Widget captures leads directly from your website with no ad spend required. It supports three modes: Live Chat (best for teams ready to respond in real time), SMS (continues the conversation on the visitor's phone), and WhatsApp (where enabled).
Installation requires no developer. You copy a snippet, paste it into your site, and the widget loads.
Before you install
For SMS replies to send, the subaccount must already have:
- A purchased phone number.
- Completed A2P 10DLC registration.
Without these, visitors can submit messages but the SMS reply path will fail.
How to set up the Chat Widget
Step 1: Configure a workflow trigger
You want to know the moment a conversation starts. Build a workflow with this trigger:
- Event: Customer Replied
- Filter: Reply Channel = Chat Widget
Each reply channel needs its own trigger. If you also use Google Messages or Instagram, create separate workflows for those.
Step 2: Add an internal notification action
Click the + button and search for Internal Notifications. Pick one of:
- Email — to specific users or a custom address.
- In-app notification — web or mobile app, to specific users or all.
- SMS — to specific users or a custom number.
Use {{message.body}} in the notification body to include the visitor's actual message text.
Step 3: Install on your site
Inside the chat widget settings, copy the install snippet. Paste it before the closing </body> tag of every page where the widget should appear.
Installing on common platforms
- WordPress: use a header/footer scripts plugin or paste into the theme footer.
- Squarespace, Wix, Weebly, Shopify, Duda: each platform has a custom code or script injection field in site settings.
Customizing the widget
Configure the widget's color, greeting message, business hours, and which channels appear. Note that messaging is set once per widget — it does not change dynamically per page in the current build.
Multiple widgets per subaccount
You can create more than one chat widget in a subaccount. Use this when you have separate websites or want different greetings per audience.
