How to Migrate a Skool Group to Sparkforge Community

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Skool Importer moves members and posts from a Skool group into a Sparkforge Community. Validate member data with an editable CSV, then import posts in a tracked, sequential flow.

The Skool Importer copies members and posts from an existing Skool group into a Sparkforge Community. Real-time progress, validation, and an editable member CSV make the migration recoverable instead of one-shot.

What the importer moves

  • Group members
  • Community posts (linked back to the imported members)

Step 1: enter your Skool group details

  1. Open Sparkforge Group Settings.
  2. Choose Import from the left menu.
  3. Provide the Group Slug, Admin Email, and Password for your Skool account.
  4. Click Confirm to start the import.

Step 2: prepare member data

The system generates a CSV with profileSlug, firstName, lastName, and email. Some members may be missing emails.

  • Download the CSV and fill in any missing email addresses.
  • Use Refresh user list if your Skool group changed since you started.
  • Do not edit profileSlug — the importer uses it to identify members.

Step 3: upload the completed CSV

  1. Click Select File and upload your updated CSV.
  2. The importer adds valid members and shows a count of successes and failures.
  3. Fix any flagged rows and click Try Again to retry just those members.

Step 4: migrate posts

After members are imported, the system prompts you to import community posts. Track progress in real time. Posts only migrate for members who imported successfully — orphan posts are skipped.

Tips that prevent rework

  • Re-sync members right before downloading the CSV if your Skool group is still active.
  • Validate emails before upload — missing or wrong emails are the most common failure.
  • Run member import to completion before kicking off post import.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I retry failed member imports?
Yes. Fix the rows in the CSV, click Try Again, and the importer processes only the previously failed members.
Why can't I change the profile slug?
The importer uses profileSlug to match each row to its Skool member. Changing it breaks the link and the member fails to import.
Are posts imported for members that failed to import?
No. Posts are tied to member IDs, so only successfully imported members get their posts brought over.
How long does the import take?
It depends on group size, but progress indicators show member and post counts in real time so you can track it.
What happens if my Skool credentials change mid-import?
Restart the import with updated credentials. Members already imported will not be duplicated as long as profile slugs match.
