How to Use Go Live in Sparkforge Communities

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Go Live runs interactive meetings or RTMP broadcasts directly inside a Sparkforge Community group. Meeting Room mode handles workshops and Q&A; Stream Software mode connects OBS, Zoom, or StreamYard via a persistent Stream Key.

Go Live brings real-time video, audio, and chat into Sparkforge Communities. Run interactive workshops, live Q&As, or branded broadcasts without leaving the community space. Replays are saved as posts when you choose to record.

Two modes

Meeting Room Mode

Many-to-many interactive room with host controls, chat, reactions, hand raise, screen share, and Grid/Speaker layouts. Use it for coaching, cohort workshops, or office hours.

Stream Software Mode

RTMP broadcast from OBS, Zoom, or StreamYard. Members watch and chat inside the community. Stream Keys are persistent, so you can reuse them across sessions — reset the key only if you shared it accidentally.

Start a Go Live session

  1. Go to Memberships in your sub-account.
  2. Hover the Communities tab and click Groups.
  3. On the target group, click Login.
  4. Click the Go Live button (red video-camera icon) near the posting tab.

Fill out post details

In the right panel under Add post details:

  • Enter Title and Description.
  • Toggle Keep livestream as post to save it after the session ends.
  • Toggle Notify members you are going live for in-app and push notifications.
  • Choose the channel under Choose where to post.
  • Leave When are you going live? as Now.

Option 1: Meeting Room

  1. In Select video source, choose Meeting Room and click Go live.
  2. Allow camera and microphone access.
  3. Members see the live in the channel and click Join Stream.
  4. Use host controls to mute, manage permissions, share screen, and pin speakers.
  5. Click End session → End session for everyone to finish.

After ending, a post appears in the chosen channel showing the recording is processing. Post authors and group admins can download the recording.

Option 2: Stream Software (RTMP)

  1. In Select video source, choose Streaming software.
  2. Copy the Server URL and Stream Key.
  3. Paste both into your encoder's RTMP settings (OBS, Zoom, StreamYard).
  4. Start the broadcast in your encoder, then click Go live in Sparkforge.

Recording layout updates

  • No black boxes when a participant turns off the camera.
  • Participant tiles stay aligned and consistent.
  • Names display correctly throughout the recording.
  • Screen sharing and multi-participant sessions use an optimized layout.

Mobile

Host or join Go Live sessions from the Sparkforge mobile app — useful when you need to run a session away from your desk.
