File Attachments in Sparkforge Live Chat Widgets

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge Live Chat widgets accept image and PDF attachments from visitors. Up to 5 files per message, 20 MB each, all visible in the Conversations inbox.

Visitors can drop images or PDFs directly into your Sparkforge Live Chat widget. Your team gets the context up front instead of chasing screenshots over email.

What's included

  • File upload button and drag-and-drop in the Live Chat widget
  • Up to 5 files per message
  • Up to 20 MB per file
  • Supported types: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .heic, .pdf
  • Files appear in Conversations inbox for preview or download

Why it helps

  • Faster resolution: visitors show the problem instead of describing it
  • First-contact resolution: all context lands in one thread
  • Fewer email volleys: no "send me a screenshot" back-and-forth
  • Mobile friendly: visitors can attach photos from camera or gallery
  • Safe by default: unsupported types, oversized uploads, and duplicates are blocked

Set up attachments

  1. Go to Sites → Chat Widget.
  2. Open or create a Live Chat widget. No extra builder settings are required.
  3. Deploy the widget to your site or funnel using the embed code.
  4. Open the page in a browser to test:
    • Click the paperclip icon
    • Select a supported file
    • Type a message and send
  5. Confirm the attachment lands in your Conversations inbox.

Limits and edge cases

  • Max 5 files per message; max 20 MB per file
  • Filenames with repeated spaces or characters like +, <, > may be rejected for security
  • Only the listed extensions are accepted; other formats are blocked
  • Attachments behave like other inbox attachments: preview, download, or forward

Tips for support teams

  • Train agents to ask for an annotated screenshot when a visitor describes a UI problem.
  • Use saved replies to nudge for a PDF receipt or invoice when troubleshooting payment issues.
  • Tag conversations with attachments so QA reviews are easier.
