Fix SaaS Mode Sub-Accounts Not Generating in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

SaaS Mode sub-accounts won't generate when the sub-account is using Stripe Test Mode API keys. Switch both the agency and the sub-account to live Stripe keys, then test with a real card you can refund.

If a 2-step order form tied to a SaaS Mode plan completes a purchase but no sub-account is created, the most common cause is Stripe Test Mode. Sparkforge requires live Stripe keys to provision a SaaS sub-account.

Requirements for SaaS Mode to provision sub-accounts

  1. The sub-account hosting the sales page (with the 2-step order form) must use the same Stripe account as the agency.
  2. Both the agency account and the sub-account must use live Stripe API keys, not test keys.
  3. Use a real credit card when testing. You can refund it inside Stripe once verification is done.

How to verify your Stripe keys

Inside Stripe, switch off the View test data toggle and copy your live publishable and secret keys. Replace any test keys in both the agency-level and sub-account-level Stripe integrations.

Why test mode silently fails

Test-mode purchases don't trigger the live billing pipeline that creates SaaS sub-accounts. The order form will complete and Stripe will record a test payment, but Sparkforge won't provision a location, generate a user, or send credentials.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why isn't my SaaS Mode sale creating a sub-account?
Almost always Stripe Test Mode keys. Switch both the agency and the SaaS-selling sub-account to live keys, then test with a real card.
Can I test SaaS Mode without using a real credit card?
No. Sparkforge only provisions sub-accounts on live Stripe charges. Use a real card and refund the charge in Stripe afterward.
Do the agency and sub-account have to share a Stripe account?
Yes. The sub-account that hosts the sales page must be integrated with the same Stripe account as the agency for SaaS Mode to work.
Where do I find my live Stripe API keys?
In your Stripe dashboard under Developers → API keys, with the View test data toggle turned off.
