SaaS Mode Setup Guide for Sparkforge Agencies
SaaS Mode lets agencies resell Sparkforge under their own brand on a Stripe subscription. Setup runs across the agency account (Stripe, white-label domains, Plan Configurator) and a sub-account (sales funnel with 2-step order form). New sign-ups auto-provision sub-accounts.
SaaS Mode is the white-label resell layer of Sparkforge. Build your plans in the Plan Configurator, host a sales page on a sub-account, and every paid signup auto-provisions a fully branded sub-account with the user, permissions, and Twilio rebilling already in place.
What SaaS Mode does
SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) means the software runs in the cloud and is sold by subscription. Sparkforge's SaaS Mode lets agencies resell the platform under their own brand, with billing on Stripe and Sparkforge branding fully removed via white labeling.
Setup overview
Setup is split into two phases: agency account configuration and sub-account configuration (where you'll actually sell). New SaaS agencies see a guided onboarding checklist inside the SaaS Configurator covering Stripe, currency, plans, and the sale link. If the checklist isn't visible, follow the manual steps below.
Agency account setup
Step 1 — Create an agency sub-account
Skip if already done.
Step 2 — Activate the telephony system
Migrate to the Sparkforge phone system if you haven't already.
Step 3 — Set up a white-labeled login domain
This is the URL your clients use to log in (e.g., app.youragency.com).
Step 4 — Set up the API domain URL
This brands system-generated links so they don't expose Sparkforge URLs.
Step 5 — Upload your logo and activate premium features
Includes Content AI, Workflow AI, premium triggers/actions, and the Template Library.
Step 6 — Connect Stripe at the agency level
Only Agency Owners and Admins can do this. In Agency View, go to Settings → Stripe Connect and click Connect to Stripe. Confirm the status shows connected. If access is later revoked from Stripe, Sparkforge displays a Reconnect prompt.
Step 7 — SaaS Configurator: build plans and pricing
Open Agency Account → Plan Configurator. Build plans, set pricing, define trial length, add Twilio credits, attach snapshots, and set Twilio rebilling profit. Click Show Stripe Product Details to copy each Stripe plan ID.
- Limit: 20 SaaS plans per agency account.
- Plans live in the agency's Stripe account — do not delete them from Stripe directly.
- If you delete a SaaS v2 plan in the agency sub-account, Sparkforge auto-removes it from the SaaS Configurator.
Sub-account setup (where you sell)
Step 8 — General business settings
Standard sub-account configuration.
Step 9 — Website domain setup
The domain that hosts your SaaS sales page.
Step 10 — Purchase a phone number
For lead follow-up after signup.
Step 11 — Calendar configuration (optional)
If you'll book demos, set up a calendar so you can embed it on your sales page.
Step 12 — Connect Stripe on the sub-account
Only Stripe is supported for SaaS products. PayPal will not work.
Step 13 — Import SaaS plans and build the sales page
- Copy the Stripe plan ID from the SaaS Configurator.
- In your selling sub-account, go to Payments.
- Click + Import from Stripe and paste the Stripe ID.
- Select the price (it will show (agency plan)).
- Add a setup fee if desired.
- Click Import Product & Price.
- Build a funnel or website under Sites → Funnels.
- Add the imported product to the sales page.
- Add a 1-step or 2-step order form.
Subscription onboarding from SaaS Configurator checkout links supports card payments only. Bank debits, BNPL, and other non-card methods are excluded.
Step 14 — Notification workflow
Build a workflow to alert you when a new SaaS customer signs up. Use the Order Form Submission trigger with a filter for the funnel containing your sales page.
Step 15 — Test the full flow
Use a real card with live Stripe keys. Refund the test charge inside Stripe afterward.
What happens at signup
- A new sub-account is created using the buyer's first and last name as the location name.
- A user is created with the buyer's name and email; a password is auto-generated.
- Sub-account permissions are applied based on the purchased plan's feature set.
- SaaS Mode is enabled for the sub-account.
- Twilio rebilling is enabled per the SaaS Configurator settings.
- A welcome email with credentials is sent from your default Mailgun subdomain (or
replies.sparkforgehq.comif Mailgun isn't configured).
Common questions
Can clients control their own rebilling?
Yes. Clients see balance, usage, charges, and recharge settings under Settings → Company Billing.
Can I sell SaaS Mode in another currency?
Yes. Create the plan as usual, then in Stripe edit the product price and change currency. Update the product settings on your funnel/website sales page. Note: this can't be changed once the product has an active subscription, and Twilio rebilling stays in USD.
Why isn't the sub-account being created on purchase?
Common causes:
- The price isn't a SaaS price (it must live inside a SaaS Stripe product).
- Stripe is in test mode — use live keys.
- Payment came through PayPal instead of Stripe.
- The buyer's email already has a Sparkforge account. Use a different email.
Can I use SaaS Mode just for Twilio rebilling?
Yes. In Agency Account → Sub-Accounts, click the three-dot icon next to a sub-account and choose Switch To SaaS.
How do I handle tax?
For existing customers, add tax rates inside Stripe under Products → Tax Rates and apply them to the customer's subscription. For new customers, use a third-party Stripe tax integration to calculate tax dynamically at checkout.
How do I change the price for a specific client?
Log into Stripe, find the customer, and edit their subscription directly.
Can I change permissions on an existing SaaS sub-account?
Yes. Agency Account → Sub-Accounts → Manage Client → Enable/Disable Products. Toggle features on or off there.
