Modify SaaS Plan Category and Plan Level in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge’s SaaS Configurator lets agencies move a plan to a new category or change its level inside a category without touching live subscriptions — only future upgrade and downgrade paths change.

The SaaS Configurator in Sparkforge lets agencies edit an existing plan’s category (its pricing group) and level (its position in the upgrade or downgrade path) without recreating the plan. Existing subscribers keep their current entitlements; only future upgrade and downgrade paths use the new structure.

Why reorganize plans

  • Protect live subscriptions: Reorganize without forcing customers onto new products.
  • Faster pricing tests: Reorder plans to try a good/better/best structure in minutes.
  • Cleaner upgrade paths: The new hierarchy appears the next time a client upgrades or downgrades.
  • Future-proof: Plan mobility lays the groundwork for cross-brand moves in upcoming releases.

Move a plan across categories

Reassign a plan to any other category that uses the same currency. Group offers more logically or assemble seasonal bundles. The plan keeps every current subscriber; only future upgrade and downgrade options change.

Change plan level inside a category

Drag and drop (or use the level selector) to move the plan up or down. Higher-level plans inherit features from every level beneath them, so shifting changes what’s included at each tier going forward. Existing subscribers keep their current entitlements.

How to modify category or level

  1. Open Agency View → SaaS Configurator.
  2. Find the plan and click Edit.
  3. To move category: Open the Category dropdown and select another category that uses the same currency. If none exists, create one in that currency first. Click Save.
  4. To change level: In the Plan Level field, choose a position number or drag the plan into place. Confirm the on-screen feature inheritance summary.
  5. Publish changes. New upgrade and downgrade paths go live immediately for all plans in the affected categories.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will existing customers gain or lose features after I move a plan?
No. They stay on their current subscription. Only future upgrades and downgrades use the new hierarchy.
Can I move a plan to a category with a different currency?
Not currently. The destination category must use the same currency as the plan.
How many times can I reorder a plan?
Unlimited. Adjust plan level any time your pricing strategy changes.
Does moving a plan affect active Stripe subscriptions?
No. Stripe product IDs stay the same and billing continues uninterrupted. Only the plan’s position inside Sparkforge changes.
What happens to inherited add-ons or rebilling products?
Add-ons stay attached to the plan. Higher-level plans inherit them if they sit above the moved plan after reordering.
