How to Move Phone Numbers Across Accounts (US and International)
Moving numbers between Sparkforge Phone and Twilio (or across agencies) follows a two-step process: collect the right Twilio Account SID (or Regulatory Bundle SID for international) plus the destination sub-account ID, then open a Sparkforge Support ticket. Sparkforge coordinates the migration end-to-end.
Sparkforge Phone, Twilio, and cross-agency moves now share one process. You no longer open a separate Twilio ticket. Sparkforge Support coordinates the migration from start to finish.
The three move types
- Sparkforge Phone → Twilio: Provide the gaining Twilio Account SID (the destination Twilio account).
- Twilio → Sparkforge Phone: Provide the losing Twilio Account SID (the current Twilio account).
- Sparkforge → Sparkforge across different agencies: No Twilio credentials required.
Before you start
For US numbers
- Twilio Account SID (gaining for outbound to Twilio, losing for inbound from Twilio).
- Destination sub-account ID (where the number will live).
- Phone numbers in E.164 format, e.g.
+1XXXXXXXXXX.
For international numbers
- Regulatory Bundle SID (instead of Account SID).
- Address SID.
- Destination sub-account ID, if applicable.
- Phone numbers with country code.
Step 1: Gather Twilio credentials
Find these in the Twilio Console under Account Info:
- Sparkforge → Twilio: Gaining Twilio Account SID.
- Twilio → Sparkforge: Losing Twilio Account SID.
- Sparkforge → Sparkforge across agencies: Skip this step.
Step 2: Get the destination sub-account ID
In your Sparkforge account, go to Settings > Business Profile. Note the Sub-account ID (also called Location ID) of the sub-account that holds or will hold the number.
Step 3: Open a Sparkforge Support ticket
Include in the ticket:
- The phone number(s) being moved.
- The relevant gaining or losing Twilio Account SID (or Regulatory Bundle SID + Address SID for international).
- The destination sub-account ID.
- Your preferred cutover window.
Sparkforge Support schedules and coordinates the entire migration, then confirms when the number is live.
International numbers: pre-checks
- Regulatory bundle is approved and current.
- Documents are valid.
- Country-specific sender ID or registration is in place for the destination (e.g., Alphanumeric Sender ID, local onboarding, emergency address).
