Move Phone Numbers Between Sub-Accounts in the Same Agency
Use Settings → Phone Integration → Move Numbers to reassign US or Canada numbers between sub-accounts inside the same Sparkforge agency. Sparkforge Phone-to-Sparkforge Phone and same-master Twilio-to-Twilio moves are supported in-app.
Move Numbers reassigns phone numbers from one sub-account to another inside the same agency. The tool lives at Settings → Phone Integration. Supported moves run in-app; everything else needs a different path.
What Move Numbers Supports
| Source → Destination | Supported in-app? |
|---|---|
| Sparkforge Phone ↔ Sparkforge Phone (same agency) | Yes |
| Twilio ↔ Twilio (same master Twilio account) | Yes |
| Twilio ↔ Twilio (different master accounts) | No — contact Twilio Support |
| Twilio ↔ Sparkforge Phone (provider conversion) | No — follow conversion guide |
| Non US/Canada numbers | No — open a Sparkforge support ticket |
Before You Start
- Confirm admin access to both source and destination sub-accounts.
- Grab the destination Location ID (Sub-account ID) from Settings → Business Profile.
- Confirm the current phone provider — Sparkforge Phone or Twilio at the agency level.
- Note that A2P registration does not move with the number. Reattach the correct brand and campaign in the destination after the move.
Move the Numbers
Step 1: Open Move Numbers
Go to Agency Settings → Phone Integration. Under Sub-account Settings, click Move Numbers.
Step 2: Pick Source, Destination, and Numbers
Choose the destination sub-account by name or paste the Location ID. Select the phone numbers to move. Review the summary and click Move Numbers.
Step 3: Verify in the Destination
Once the move completes, the numbers appear in the destination sub-account. Re-check:
- Forwarding rules
- Call recordings and whispers
- SMS and call flow assignments
- User assignments
- A2P brand and campaign attachment
Troubleshooting
Move Numbers Action Is Missing or Fails
- Different Twilio masters. Numbers under separate Twilio master accounts cannot move in-app. Contact Twilio Support.
- Missing regulatory bundle. Some countries (e.g., AU +61) require an approved Regulatory Bundle and Address SID in the destination before any move. Configure those first.
- Provider mismatch. Twilio-to-Sparkforge or Sparkforge-to-Twilio is a conversion, not a move. Follow the dedicated conversion article.
- Country not supported in-app. Open a Sparkforge support ticket for non-US/Canada moves.
