Layout Margins and Text Spacing in the Sparkforge Email Builder

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge's Email Builder lets you set margins on layout blocks and tune top and bottom spacing on each text tag. Skip spacer blocks and custom HTML.

The Sparkforge Email Builder gives you direct control over the space between content blocks and around text tags. Use these settings instead of stacking spacer blocks or hand-coding HTML.

What layout margins and text spacing control

Layout margins set the vertical space between rows, sections, and columns. Text spacing sets the space above and below each text tag (H1 through H4 and paragraphs). Both update live in the preview.

  • Vertical space between sections, rows, and content blocks
  • Top and bottom space for headings and paragraph text
  • Consistent typography across every campaign and template

List item spacing vs. line height

List item spacing adds space between list items. Line height controls space between lines inside the same item or paragraph. Use them together: line height for dense text, list item spacing to separate items.

Where to find list item spacing

Page Builder, then select Rich Text or Bullet List, then open the Style panel. List Item Spacing sits next to Line Height. It works on bullet and numbered lists in supported elements.

Adjust layout margins on a block

  1. Open Marketing, then Emails, and launch the Email Builder.
  2. Click the layout block you want to adjust (row, section, or column).
  3. In the left settings panel, scroll to the Margin section.
  4. Set Top and Bottom margins with the slider or by typing a px value.
  5. Watch the preview update in real time, then click Save.

Set global text spacing for headings and paragraphs

Text spacing applies to a tag globally across every email that uses it. Change once, and every H2 (or paragraph, or any other tag) inherits the new spacing.

  1. Open the Email Builder from Marketing, then Emails.
  2. From the top-left buttons, click Appearance, then Typography Settings.
  3. For each tag, set Top Spacing (above the tag) and Bottom Spacing (below the tag). Values accept px or rem (e.g., 10px, 1rem).
  4. Click Save. Every email using that tag picks up the change.
