How to Migrate from Klaviyo to Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Export contacts, segments, and flows from Klaviyo, then import contacts into Sparkforge and rebuild segments as Smart Lists, flows as Workflows, and forms and campaigns inside Sparkforge. Run both tools in parallel until data and automations are validated.

Moving off Klaviyo means more than copying contacts. Plan the cutover so segments, flows, forms, and campaigns land in Sparkforge with the same logic and zero downtime.

Before you start

Inventory your Klaviyo account

  • List every active asset: profiles, segments, flows, forms, and email or SMS campaigns.
  • Screenshot or document each flow, including triggers, filters, and time delays.
  • Note record counts so you can confirm the import after migration.

Export and back up

  • In Klaviyo, open Profiles and export all profiles as a .zip file.
  • Document segment criteria so they can be rebuilt as Smart Lists in Sparkforge.
  • Save the export and any flow screenshots to secure storage before you touch anything.

Migrate contacts

  1. In Sparkforge, go to Contacts > Import Contacts and upload the Klaviyo CSV.
  2. Map Klaviyo custom fields to Sparkforge custom fields during the import wizard.
  3. Open Contacts > Smart Lists and rebuild each Klaviyo segment using your documented criteria.

Rebuild forms

  1. Go to Sites > Forms and recreate each Klaviyo form, matching fields and required status.
  2. Set submission actions — add tags, trigger workflows, or assign to a pipeline stage.
  3. Replace the Klaviyo embed on every page with the Sparkforge embed code and submit a test entry.

Rebuild flows as workflows

Klaviyo flows become Sparkforge workflows. Recreate the same trigger, conditions, and action steps.

  1. Open Automation > Workflows and create a workflow for each Klaviyo flow.
  2. Match the trigger (form submitted, tag added, etc.) and recreate every branch and delay.
  3. Test each workflow with a real contact before turning it on for live traffic.

Recreate email and SMS campaigns

In Marketing > Email Campaigns or Marketing > SMS Campaigns, rebuild each campaign with the same audience, content, and schedule. If you ran A/B tests in Klaviyo, set them up the same way in the Sparkforge campaign builder.

Reporting

Pull baseline numbers from Klaviyo — open rate, click rate, conversion — so you have a benchmark. Then open Dashboard > Performance in Sparkforge and build matching reports so you can compare like-for-like.

Validate, then decommission

  1. Run Klaviyo and Sparkforge in parallel for two to four weeks.
  2. Cross-check contact counts, segment sizes, and flow enrollments daily.
  3. Once Sparkforge is sending and converting on its own, back up Klaviyo one final time and cancel the subscription.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will Sparkforge import my Klaviyo flows automatically?
No. Flows have to be rebuilt as Sparkforge workflows. The structure is similar — trigger, conditions, actions — but each flow needs to be recreated by hand using your documented logic.
How are Klaviyo segments handled in Sparkforge?
Segments map to Smart Lists in Sparkforge. Document the criteria for each Klaviyo segment, then recreate it in Contacts > Smart Lists using the same filters.
Can I keep my Klaviyo forms live during the switch?
Yes. Run both in parallel during the transition. Replace the Klaviyo embed with the Sparkforge embed page by page, and confirm submissions are landing before you turn off the Klaviyo form.
What about A/B test history?
Past test results stay in Klaviyo and can be exported as documentation. Sparkforge starts a fresh test history once you rebuild the campaign in its A/B tester.
How long should I run both tools side by side?
Two to four weeks is typical. Cancel Klaviyo only after every workflow has fired correctly in production and reporting matches the previous baseline.
