Verify Your Phone Number on WhatsApp Business
Verify your WhatsApp Business phone number from Settings, pick SMS or voice OTP delivery, and enter the code. The process is usually instant and only needs to be done once per number.
Phone number verification confirms that your WhatsApp Business account is linked to a number you control. You only have to do this once per number, and the process usually finishes in under a minute.
Steps
- In Sparkforge, go to Settings and select WhatsApp.
- Click Verify Phone Number.
- Choose your OTP delivery method — SMS or voice call.
- Enter the OTP when it arrives.
Once the code is accepted, the number is verified and ready to send and receive messages.
If the OTP doesn't arrive
- Confirm the phone number is entered correctly.
- Check for network issues that could delay the SMS or call.
- Click Get another code to resend.
- Restart the device and request a fresh code.
- If voice fails, switch to SMS (or vice versa).
Things to know
- WhatsApp Business requires phone-based verification — email isn't supported.
- One number can only be active on either WhatsApp Business or WhatsApp Messenger, not both. Switching platforms requires re-verification on the new one.
- Verification is usually instant, but heavy network conditions can add a few minutes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need to verify my phone number on WhatsApp Business?
Verification confirms the account is linked to a number you control and enables message sending. Without it, you can't operate the account.
What if I don't receive the OTP?
Double-check the number is correct, click Get another code, and try the alternate delivery method (voice instead of SMS or vice versa). Network delays can also slow delivery.
Can I verify with email instead of a phone number?
No. WhatsApp Business requires verification via SMS or voice call. Email isn't supported for this step.
Can the same number run WhatsApp Business and WhatsApp Messenger?
No. A phone number can only be active on one of the two at a time. Switching requires re-verifying on the new platform.
How long does verification take?
Usually instant. Heavy network conditions or carrier delays can stretch it to a few minutes, but rarely longer.
