How to Use Special Prices for SaaS Sub-Accounts in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Special Prices let Sparkforge agencies override SaaS Configurator amounts during sub-account conversion. Enter the negotiated price, and Sparkforge creates or reuses a hidden Stripe price object behind the scenes.

Special Prices for SaaS Sub-Accounts let Sparkforge agencies set a custom price during SaaS Mode activation, without creating duplicate Stripe products or editing master plans. Use them when manually converting an existing sub-account to SaaS Mode.

What Special Prices do

Special Prices override the fixed plan amounts in SaaS Configurator when you convert an existing sub-account to SaaS Mode. Instead of creating a temporary product or price in Stripe, you enter the negotiated amount and Sparkforge creates (or reuses) a hidden "special price" behind the scenes.

Why use Special Prices

  • Custom deals on the fly: Offer promotional rates, enterprise discounts, or test new price points without editing master plans.
  • Faster checkout: Stay inside Sparkforge's SaaS conversion wizard instead of jumping to Stripe.
  • Metadata-aware reuse: Sparkforge reuses an existing special price if amount and billing period match, keeping the Stripe catalog tidy.

How to set up a Special Price

Quick path: Switch to SaaS flow

  1. In Agency view, open Accounts, locate the client, click the three-dot menu, and choose Switch to SaaS.
  2. Choose Customer already exists in Stripe, or add the customer.
  3. On the Plan selection screen, click Create Special Price.
  4. Enter the monthly or yearly amount you negotiated.
  5. Confirm currency and billing interval.
  6. Select the new Special Price and click Continue.
  7. Review the subscription summary and click Activate.

Sparkforge provisions the SaaS plan immediately. The client stays in the same sub-account and is billed at the special rate.

Alternate path: Manage Client

Step 1: Open Manage Client

  • From Agency View, open Sub-Accounts List.
  • Select the sub-account and click Manage Client.

Step 2: Add a subscription

  • Under the SaaS tab, select Add a Subscription.
  • Choose the payment provider.
  • Select an existing customer profile or create a new one.

Step 3: Create the Special Price

  • In the Select Plan modal, click Create a Special Price under your desired plan.
  • Enter amount, currency, and interval.
  • Click Save Price.

The system checks for an identical existing special price (same product, currency, interval, amount). If one exists, it reuses it. Otherwise it creates a new one.

Step 4: Confirm subscription

  • Confirm the plan with the Special Price applied.
  • The subscription attaches to the sub-account at the special rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does creating a Special Price change my SaaS Configurator plans?
No. Public plans stay untouched. Special Prices live as separate Stripe price objects used only for the specific subscription.
Can I use Special Prices on a public checkout signup?
Not yet. Special Prices currently apply only when manually converting an existing sub-account to SaaS Mode. Public checkout links use your standard plan pricing.
Will the client see "Special Price" on their invoice?
No. They see your normal plan name. The underlying Stripe price ID differs but invoices stay branded with your plan product.
Can I upgrade or downgrade a Special-Price client later?
Yes. Swap them to any other price (standard or special) inside Manage Client > Subscriptions.
How do I find all Special Prices in Stripe?
Filter Prices in Stripe by metadata key hl_special_price=true. Every special price object includes that flag.
