How to @Tag Members in Sparkforge Communities

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Type @ followed by a member's name in any Sparkforge community post or comment to tag them. Tagged members get an email notification with a direct link back to the thread.

Sparkforge Communities supports @ mentions in posts, comments, and replies. Tagging a member highlights their name in the thread and sends them an email with a direct link back to the conversation.

How to tag a member

In a post

  1. Start a new post.
  2. Type @ followed by the first letters of the member's name.
  3. Pick the right member from the dropdown — hover highlights the row in blue, click or press Enter to insert.
  4. The name appears as a highlighted tag in the post body.
  5. Publish. The tagged member gets an email notification.

In a comment or reply

Same pattern. Start the comment, type @ and the member's name, pick from the dropdown, publish. The tagging works in replies to existing comments too — not just top-level comments.

What the tagged member sees

An email lands in their inbox with a link straight to the post or comment where they were tagged. They can click through and join the thread without hunting through the community feed.

You can tag multiple members in one post or comment when several people should see the thread.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I tag someone in a community post?
Type @ followed by the start of the member's name while drafting the post. Pick the member from the dropdown and publish — they will get an email notification with a direct link to the post.
Can I tag in replies, not just top-level comments?
Yes. The @ mention works the same way in replies to existing comments as it does in new comments and posts.
Does the tagged member get notified?
Yes. Sparkforge sends an email notification with a direct link back to the post or comment where they were mentioned.
How many members can I tag in one post?
There is no fixed cap — tag as many as the conversation needs. Each tagged member gets their own email notification.
What does a tagged name look like in the published post?
The name appears as a highlighted tag, visually distinct from regular text, so readers can tell at a glance who has been mentioned.
