Restore a Deleted Twilio Number in Sparkforge
Twilio holds deleted numbers for 10 days. On Sparkforge Phone, contact Sparkforge support with the Location ID. On your own Twilio account, repurchase from Released Numbers in the Twilio console.
Deleting a phone number by accident isn't always permanent. Twilio holds released numbers for 10 days, which gives you a window to recover them. The process depends on whether the number was on Sparkforge Phone or your own Twilio account.
Why Restore Instead of Replacing
- Customers already have the number saved — no confusion
- Ads, signage, and printed materials still point to it
- Existing call and SMS history stays attached
- Less rework than reconfiguring routing for a new number
Restoration Rules
- 10-day window. After 10 days from deletion, the number leaves Twilio's hold pool.
- Immediate billing. Twilio charges the standard monthly fee on restoration.
- Webhooks not preserved. Call routing, webhooks, and automations need to be reconfigured.
- If reassigned, gone. If Twilio releases the number to inventory and someone else claims it, restoration is no longer possible.
- Past 10 days, contact Twilio support directly. Recovery may still be possible but is not guaranteed.
If You're Using Sparkforge Phone
Sparkforge Phone numbers are managed by Sparkforge, so the support team handles restoration on your behalf within the 10-day window.
- Open Sparkforge support chat.
- Provide the Location ID of the sub-account where the number was assigned.
- Sparkforge support will check availability and attempt restoration.
If You're Using Your Own Twilio Account
You can restore directly through the Twilio console.
Step 1: Log In to Twilio
Open the Twilio console and navigate to the correct sub-account.
Step 2: Find the Twilio SID
If you have many sub-accounts, copy the Account SID from Sparkforge to make filtering easier. In Sparkforge Agency View, go to Settings → Phone Integration → Subaccount Settings.
Step 3: Copy the Account SID
Click the three dots, choose Update Credentials, and copy the Account SID. Use it to filter sub-accounts in Twilio.
Step 4: Open Released Numbers
In Twilio's left navigation, expand Phone Numbers → Manage → Released Numbers. The deleted number should appear here if you're within the 10-day window.
Step 5: Repurchase
Click Repurchase next to the number. Twilio will start charging the monthly fee immediately.
If the number doesn't appear, contact Twilio support with the Account SID and number details.
