How to Package Paid Add-Ons Inside SaaS Plans
When you bundle paid add-ons into a SaaS plan, your agency is billed by Sparkforge — not the sub-account. Use the in-app calculator to set a plan price that covers add-on costs plus margin.
Agencies can bundle paid add-ons such as WordPress, WhatsApp, Yext, Ad Manager, AI Employee, and Branded Mobile App inside a SaaS plan in the SaaS Configurator. This guide covers how billing works, how to read the cost calculator, and how to keep plans profitable.
How add-ons are billed
Sparkforge handles add-ons in two ways. Only one of them applies inside SaaS plans.
Reselling (not used inside SaaS plans)
- Agency pays Sparkforge.
- Sub-account pays the agency a marked-up price.
Direct deployment (used for SaaS plans)
- Sub-accounts are not charged for the add-ons.
- The agency is charged by Sparkforge.
- You must include those costs in your plan price.
Missing this point is the most common reason agencies get hit with unexpected add-on charges.
1. Open the Add-Ons section
- Go to Agency View > SaaS Configurator.
- Create a new plan or edit an existing one.
- Open the Add-Ons tab.
You will see a banner reminding you that add-on costs hit the agency, not sub-accounts.
2. Select the add-ons to include
Pick the add-ons you want bundled with the plan. Wholesale monthly prices are shown next to each option (WordPress, WhatsApp, Ad Manager, Listings, AI Employee, Branded Mobile App, and others).
3. Review the cost calculator
The cost calculator updates as you select or deselect add-ons. It shows the total monthly cost per subscriber that your agency will pay.
Example: WordPress ($10) + WhatsApp ($10) + Ad Manager ($97) = $117/mo per subscriber.
4. Price the plan
Set the plan price so:
Plan price ≥ add-on cost + your profit margin
Example bundle: AI Employee ($97) + Branded Mobile App ($49) + WordPress ($10) = $156/mo total cost. For a 40 percent margin, raise the plan price by at least $220 to $250 per month.
5. What happens at signup
- Add-ons install automatically when the sub-account subscribes.
- Your agency is billed for every selected add-on.
- Sub-accounts are not billed individually.
- If the customer cancels, add-ons do not auto-uninstall — you have to remove them manually.
Best practices
- Check the calculator before you save the plan.
- Adjust pricing before you offer discounts or promotions — add-ons eat margin fast.
- Avoid stacking expensive add-ons into low-priced plans unless you intend to absorb the cost.
- Tell customers which add-ons are included so the value is visible.
