How to Import WhatsApp Templates into Sub-Accounts with Snapshots
Snapshots in Sparkforge let agencies clone WhatsApp templates from one sub-account into others. Both sub-accounts need WhatsApp connected first, and imported templates re-submit to Meta for approval.
Snapshots copy WhatsApp templates, workflows, and other assets from one sub-account into another. This is the fastest way to roll out a tested template library across multiple client accounts.
Prerequisites
- Active Sparkforge subscription on the agency.
- WhatsApp integrated on both the source and destination sub-accounts. Templates will not load without an existing WhatsApp connection.
Create the Snapshot
- Log in to your Agency Dashboard and open Account Snapshots.
- Click Create New Snapshot.
- Enter a Snapshot name and pick the source sub-account containing the templates you want to copy.
- Click Next, review the asset list, then click Create to finalize.
Apply the Snapshot to a Sub-Account
- From the Agency Dashboard, open Sub-Accounts and find the destination account.
- Click the three-dot menu and choose Manage Client.
- Open Actions and select Load Snapshot.
- Pick the Snapshot from the list and click Proceed.
- Select the WhatsApp templates (and any workflows or other assets) you want to push, then click Proceed.
- When the import finishes, click OK.
What Happens After Import
Imported WhatsApp templates are submitted to Meta for approval before they can be used. Approval status updates inside the destination sub-account once Meta responds.
Troubleshooting
- Templates missing after import: confirm the right Snapshot was selected and that templates were checked in the asset list. Refresh and look under Automations > Templates.
- Snapshot edits: Snapshots are not editable after creation. Build a new one if the source content changes.
- Reuse: the same Snapshot can be loaded into multiple sub-accounts.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need before using a Snapshot for WhatsApp templates?
An active Sparkforge subscription on the agency and WhatsApp integrated on both the source sub-account and the destination sub-account. Templates cannot transfer without WhatsApp already connected.
What is a Snapshot in Sparkforge?
A Snapshot is a saved package of workflows, templates, settings, and automations from one sub-account that you can load into another sub-account to replicate the configuration.
Why do imported WhatsApp templates not appear right away?
Imported templates are sent to Meta for approval. They become usable only after Meta approves them. Status appears under Automations > Templates inside the destination sub-account.
Can a Snapshot be edited after it is created?
No. Snapshots are immutable. If the source has changed, create a new Snapshot and load it into the sub-account again.
Can the same Snapshot be applied to multiple sub-accounts?
Yes. Load the same Snapshot into as many sub-accounts as needed to replicate the same WhatsApp template library and assets.
