How to Export Contacts to a CSV in Sparkforge
Sparkforge exports contacts to CSV through an async backend job. Start the export from the Contacts page, monitor it under Bulk Actions, and download the file when the job completes. Files stay available for 30 days.
Sparkforge exports contacts to a CSV through a backend job rather than a browser download. The export runs in the background, you keep working, and the finished file lands in Bulk Actions when it's ready.
What's different about the upgraded export
- Async — the export doesn't block the UI. Close the tab and come back later.
- Scales to large datasets — far fewer failures on multi-million-row exports.
- Progress tracking — see status live on the Bulk Actions page.
- Push notification — you get pinged when the file is ready.
- 30-day retention — finished files stay downloadable for 30 days.
- Admin-only download — only Agency Admins and Location Admins can pull the file.
Why export
- Migrate contacts to another CRM
- Build an offline backup
- Pull data into a spreadsheet for analysis
- Share lists with a partner or contractor
- Build email or SMS lists outside the platform
What gets exported
The CSV contains the columns currently visible in your Contacts table. That includes names, emails, phone numbers, tags, and any custom fields you've added as columns. Notes longer than 255 characters are truncated. Automation history (past emails, SMS logs) isn't included.
How to export
Step 1: Go to Contacts
Open Contacts in your sub-account, then click Smart Lists.
Step 2: Pick contacts to export
Use Advanced Filters to narrow the list. Check the box next to each contact, or check the box in the filter row and click Select All Contacts to include everything that matches the filter.
Step 3: Set the columns (optional)
Click Manage Fields. Check or uncheck columns to control what shows up in the CSV. The export only includes columns currently visible in the table — if a field is missing in your file, fix the column visibility before exporting.
Step 4: Start the export
- Click More (or the three dots beside + Add Contact).
- Click Export.
- Confirm in the export modal.
- You'll see a success message. Click Check Progress to jump to Bulk Actions, or dismiss and keep working.
Step 5: Download from Bulk Actions
Go to Contacts > Bulk Actions. Find the export row (Operation: Export, Status: Complete, file name like Export_Contacts_All_Oct_2025.csv). Click the download icon to save it locally. After 30 days, the link expires.
