Bulk Actions for Contacts and SmartLists in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Bulk Actions page in Sparkforge tracks every mass operation against contacts — imports, deletions, bulk SMS/email, tag changes — with status, error logs, and a 60-day restore window for deleted contacts.

The Bulk Actions page is your audit trail for mass operations on contacts. Anything you trigger from Contacts or SmartLists — imports, bulk SMS, deletions, tag changes — lands here with status, metrics, and downloadable error logs.

What lands on the Bulk Actions page

Every job runs as a row with these columns:

  • Action Name — what you called the job
  • Action Type — Import, Delete Contacts, Add Tag, Remove Tag, Bulk SMS, Bulk Email, etc.
  • Created By — the user who triggered it
  • Created At — timestamp
  • Status — In Progress, Completed, Paused, Queued, Cancelled

Status badges are color-coded. Hover for full action names and counts.

Reading the table fast

Use filters to narrow to what matters:

  • Status — find stuck or failed jobs
  • Action Type — isolate one operation type
  • User — see who ran what
  • Date Range — scope to an audit window

Viewing stats and downloading error logs

Click Show Stats on any row to open the metrics drawer:

  • Totals (records processed)
  • Success and error counts
  • Delivery outcomes for messaging jobs (delivered, failed, opt-out)

Click Download in the Stats view to export an error log. The log includes record identifiers and a failure reason for each — drop it into a spreadsheet, fix the data, and re-import.

Restoring deleted contacts

If you ran a Delete Contacts job by mistake, you can restore it.

  1. Find the deletion job on the Bulk Actions page.
  2. Click Restore (only shown for eligible delete jobs within the window).
  3. Confirm in the dialog. A new restore job queues up and runs to completion.

Restore window: about 60 days from the deletion date. After that, contacts are permanently gone.

Restore only applies to bulk deletions. Bulk Email, Bulk SMS, Bulk Email Verification, Bulk Update Contacts to Company, and Bulk Tag Add cannot be undone.

Pausing or cancelling running jobs

Some bulk sends — bulk SMS especially — can be paused or cancelled mid-run.

  1. Open the three-dot menu on a running job.
  2. Choose Pause, Edit, or Cancel.

Pause halts processing temporarily. Cancel stops remaining processing — already-sent records stay sent. Edit lets you change the schedule time on a queued bulk action.

Refresh the table and re-open Show Stats to verify what completed before the change.

How to use the page in practice

  1. Go to Contacts → Bulk Actions in your sub-account.
  2. Apply filters to narrow to relevant jobs.
  3. Click Show Stats on a job to review totals; download the error log if needed.
  4. For accidental Delete Contacts jobs, use Restore within the 60-day window.
  5. For queued bulk SMS, use the three-dot menu to Pause, Edit, or Cancel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which bulk actions show up on this page?
Imports, Delete Contacts, Bulk SMS, Bulk Email, Bulk Email Verification, Add Tag, Remove Tag, and Bulk Update Contacts to Company. Each row links to Show Stats.
How long do I have to restore deleted contacts?
About 60 days from the date of deletion. After that, the contacts are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
Can I cancel a bulk SMS after it starts?
Yes, for eligible queued jobs. Open the three-dot menu and choose Cancel. Records already sent stay sent — only remaining records are stopped.
Where do I download per-record failure reasons?
Click Show Stats on the job, then click Download to export the error log. Each failed record includes a reason you can act on.
Is the Bulk Actions page per sub-account or agency-wide?
Per sub-account. Open the sub-account first, then navigate to Contacts → Bulk Actions.
Why does Sparkforge ask about consent during contact imports?
Importing contacts who haven't consented hurts your sending reputation through bounces and spam complaints. Purchased lists are particularly risky and can trigger blocklisting on your domain.
