How to Set Contact Limits for SaaS Sub-Accounts

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge SaaS Mode lets you cap how many contacts a sub-account can create from the UI. APIs, forms, and workflows still bypass the limit. Plan-level limits can be overridden per sub-account.

SaaS Mode in Sparkforge supports per-plan and per-sub-account contact limits. The cap blocks UI-based contact creation — manual entry and bulk imports — but APIs, forms, and workflows can still add contacts above the limit.

Set Contact Limits on a SaaS Plan

  1. Open the SaaS Configurator.
  2. Click Edit Details on the plan you want to update.
  3. Open the Usage Limits tab.
  4. Toggle Contact Limit on (default is unlimited).
  5. Set the cap.
  6. Click Save.

Any new sub-account created on this plan — or upgraded into it — inherits the limit.

Override Contact Limits Per Sub-Account

  1. Go to the Sub-accounts page at the agency level.
  2. Open the sub-account.
  3. On the Manage Client page, find the Usage Limits section.
  4. Set the limit.
  5. Click Save.

The override on Manage Client beats the plan-level setting. If the sub-account upgrades plans later, the limit resets to the new plan's value.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why isn't the limit hard-blocking all contact creation?

The cap only restricts UI-based creation. Contacts coming in through APIs, forms, and workflows still pass through. This is intentional — it stops bulk manual entry without breaking automation.

What happens when a sub-account hits the limit?

UI-based actions like Add Contact and bulk imports get blocked. Existing contacts and incoming leads via forms and APIs are unaffected.

Can I set different limits on different plans?

Yes. Each SaaS plan in the configurator has its own Usage Limits tab.

What if I upgrade a sub-account that has an override?

The plan upgrade resets the limit to the new plan's value, overwriting the manual override.
