How to Find Pipeline ID and Stage ID in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Pull pipeline and stage IDs by inspecting an opportunity in Zapier or by exporting opportunities. For most API calls, the stage name is enough — you no longer need the Stage ID to create an opportunity.

Pipeline IDs and stage IDs are used in webhooks, audit logs, and direct API calls. Here is how to find them and where you actually need them.

Stage ID is usually optional

For creating opportunities, the stage name is enough. The Stage ID is no longer required for that workflow.

Find the opportunity ID

  • Open any opportunity. The opportunity ID appears in the bottom-left of the modal as a link-style label.
  • The ID is also the last segment of the opportunity URL.

Find the pipeline ID via Zapier

Sparkforge support only documents the Zapier path for this. Other third-party integrations are not supported for ID lookup.

  1. Create a Zap with a Sparkforge trigger that returns opportunity data.
  2. Run the test step.
  3. The pipeline ID and stage ID appear in the returned record.

Alternate: export opportunities

If you don't use Zapier, export your opportunities from the pipeline view. The export file lists pipeline and stage identifiers alongside each record.

Where these IDs are used

  • Pipeline ID — checking audit logs for changes to a pipeline.
  • Opportunity ID — audit log activity, deep links to a specific opportunity, and bulk imports that update existing records.
  • Both appear in webhooks and direct API calls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I still need the Stage ID to create an opportunity?
No. The stage name is enough when creating opportunities through the API. Stage ID is only needed for niche audit and webhook scenarios.
Can I use a tool other than Zapier to look up pipeline IDs?
Sparkforge only documents the Zapier method. For non-Zapier setups, exporting opportunities is the supported alternative.
Where is the opportunity ID inside the app?
Open the opportunity. The ID appears as a link-style label in the bottom-left of the modal and as the last segment of the page URL.
Do these IDs change if I rename a pipeline or stage?
No. The underlying ID is stable — renaming the pipeline or stage in the UI does not change the ID used by the API.
