Featured Posts in Communities: How to Pin and Unpin
Admins and owners can mark a post as Featured (pinned) so it appears at the top of a channel feed or the home timeline. Unpin from the same three-dot menu when you're done.
Featured Posts (also called Pinned Posts) push important content to the top of a channel feed or the home timeline in Sparkforge Communities. Only admins and owners can pin and unpin.
Pin a Post
- Find the post you want to feature.
- Click the three-dot menu on the post.
- Select Pin.
The post is now Featured.
Where Featured Posts Appear
Channel level
Pinned in a channel, the post sits at the top of that channel's feed. Members see it first when they open the channel.
Home timeline
Pinned to the home timeline, the post appears at the top of the main community dashboard.
Unpin a Post
- Find the featured post.
- Click the three-dot menu.
- Select Unpin.
The post drops out of the featured slot and returns to its original position in the feed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can pin posts?
Only community admins and owners. Regular members don't see the Pin option in the three-dot menu.
What's the difference between channel-level and home-timeline pinning?
A channel pin sits at the top of that one channel. A home-timeline pin sits at the top of the community dashboard. You can pin the same post in both places if needed.
How many posts can I pin?
There's no hard cap, but pinning too many defeats the purpose. Stick to one or two at a time per location to keep them visible.
Does unpinning delete the post?
No. Unpin only removes the featured flag. The post stays in its original timestamp position in the feed.
Can members see who pinned a post?
Members see the Featured tag on the post but not the specific admin who pinned it.
