Enable Twilio Rebilling When Clients Share a SID and Token

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Clients sharing a Twilio SID and token can't be rebilled until each one has its own Twilio sub-account. Create a new sub-account in Twilio, then update the client's credentials in Sparkforge Agency Settings.

Twilio rebilling in Sparkforge SaaS Mode requires each client's Sparkforge sub-account to map to its own Twilio sub-account. If you've been running multiple clients off the same Twilio SID and token, you need to split them apart before enabling rebilling. Here's how.

Step 1: Create a new Twilio sub-account

Log into Twilio. Click the gear icon, choose Sub-accounts, and click the red +. Name the new sub-account after the client you're separating out.

Step 2: Update credentials in Sparkforge

  1. Log into Sparkforge.
  2. Open Agency Settings > Twilio.
  3. Find the client, click the three-dot icon, and choose Update Credentials.
  4. Replace the SID and Auth Token with the values from the new Twilio sub-account.

To find the new credentials: Twilio > gear icon > Sub-accounts > click the new sub-account name. SID and Auth Token are listed on that page.

After the switch

Once credentials are updated, enable Twilio rebilling for the client through the Manage Client page in Sparkforge. Verify the first billing cycle in both Twilio's dashboard and Stripe to confirm charges are routing correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I confirm each client's Twilio billing is accurate after separating?
Compare usage and charges in both the Twilio dashboard and Sparkforge billing reports. Run this check at the end of the first full billing cycle, then spot-check monthly.
Can I roll back to the shared SID and token if rebilling breaks?
Technically yes, but it's not recommended — rolling back invalidates accurate per-client billing. Troubleshoot the new setup with Sparkforge or Twilio support before reverting.
Do I need to migrate phone numbers between Twilio sub-accounts?
Yes. Numbers stay with whichever Twilio sub-account they were originally provisioned under. Open a Twilio support ticket to transfer numbers from the old shared account to the new client-specific sub-account.
