How to Customize Conversation AI Prompts in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Open Conversation AI settings in your sub-account, go to Configure Intent, and click Edit Prompt on the intent you want to change. You control the bot persona and any extra context the bot needs to answer correctly.

Conversation AI bots in Sparkforge ship with a default prompt per intent. You can override that prompt to control tone, persona, and any business-specific rules the bot should follow when replying to contacts.

Edit a prompt by intent

Go to your sub-account settings, open Conversation AI, and click the Configure Intent tab. Find the intent you want to change and click Edit Prompt.

What you can edit

  • Who is the bot? Editable. Tell the bot who it is, how to meet its goals, and what to keep in mind during the conversation.
  • Goal. Not editable. This is the outcome the bot is trying to drive for the intent.
  • Anything else the bot should know? Editable. Drop in business info, why the conversation is happening, who the contact is, and any rules the bot must follow.

Custom Values and Custom Fields are supported inside the prompt. Use the + Add Custom Values button to insert them so the bot speaks with live contact and business data.

Templates and reset

Sparkforge ships a few prompt templates you can use for inspiration or as starting points. If you go too far down a wrong path, click Reset to Default to revert the prompt for that intent.

Why prompts matter

Prompting is the single biggest lever on Conversation AI quality. A vague prompt produces vague replies. Be specific about the business, the contact, the tone, and the boundaries.
