The Create and Associate Company action lives inside Contact-based Sparkforge workflows. It creates a new Company record and links it to the Contact that triggered the workflow — useful for B2B onboarding, form submissions, and CRM enrichment.
What This Action Does
- Creates a new Company record from inside a Contact workflow.
- Links the new Company to the Contact that triggered the workflow.
- Maps fields from the contact record, workflow variables, or webhook payloads.
- Maintains organized Company-Contact relationships without manual entry.
Action Configuration
1. Field Mapping
Map values to populate the new Company. Examples:
- Company Name →
{{contact.company_name}} - Domain →
{{inboundWebhookRequest.body.domain}} - Industry →
{{contact.industry}}
2. Dynamic Value Sources
- Contact fields (First Name, Company Name, Email, etc.)
- Inbound webhook payloads
- Fixed text values (e.g., "New Lead Company")
3. Association Behavior
The new Company is automatically associated with the trigger Contact. The relationship shows up under the Contact's Associated Companies section and the Company's Associated Contacts section.
4. Add Fields
Use + Add Field to map additional Company fields. Each row is one field-value pair.
5. Save
Click Save Action. The workflow creates the Company and associates it with the Contact on each run.
Edge Cases
- Available only in Contact-based workflows.
- If the Contact already has a linked Company, this action creates an additional Company but does not associate it to the contact — be intentional about when you run this step.
Example: Create a Company on Contact Created
- Workflow Type: Contact-based
- Trigger: Contact Created
- Action: Create Associated Company
- Mappings: Company Name →
{{contact.company_name}}, Domain →{{contact.email}}(parsed domain), Industry → "Lead Company"
Result: a Company record lands in the CRM and is linked to the new Contact automatically.
