How to Configure User Limits for SaaS Sub-Accounts in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

SaaS Mode lets you cap the number of sub-account users per plan, with optional overrides on individual sub-accounts. Agency-level users are never restricted.

SaaS Mode in Sparkforge lets you cap the number of users that can be added to sub-accounts. The cap applies to sub-account level users only — you can still add unlimited agency-level users to any sub-account.

Set a user limit on a SaaS plan

  1. Open the SaaS configurator.
  2. Click Edit Details on the plan.
  3. Open the Usage Limits tab.
  4. Toggle User Limit on and enter the maximum number of users.
  5. Click Save.

Any new sub-account created on this plan, or upgraded into it, will inherit the limit.

Override the limit for a specific sub-account

  1. Go to Sub-Accounts at the agency level.
  2. Click the sub-account.
  3. On the Manage Client page, scroll to Usage Limits.
  4. Set the desired limit and click Save.

The override on the Manage Client page beats the plan's default. If the sub-account upgrades to a different plan later, the limit resets to whatever that new plan defines.

What the limit covers

  • Counted: Sub-account level users.
  • Not counted: Agency-level users with access to the sub-account.

Use this when you're reselling Sparkforge to clients and want to enforce seat caps without restricting your own internal team's access.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the user limit count agency-level users?
No. The cap applies only to sub-account level users. You can still add as many agency-level users as you need.
What happens to the override when a sub-account upgrades plans?
The override is wiped. The new plan's user limit takes over until you set a new override on the Manage Client page.
Is the user limit on by default?
No. By default sub-accounts allow unlimited users. You have to enable the User Limit toggle on the plan or sub-account.
Where does the per-sub-account override take effect?
On the Manage Client page in the Usage Limits section. That value overrides whatever the plan defines.
Do I need SaaS Mode to set user limits?
Yes. The configurator-based limits live inside SaaS Mode.
