Tag Channels and Events in Sparkforge Community Posts

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

In Sparkforge communities you can type # inside a post or comment to insert a clickable tag for a channel or scheduled event. The picker only shows items you have access to, and tags route readers directly to that destination.

Channel and event tagging in Sparkforge communities turns references in your posts and comments into permission-aware, clickable links. Type #, pick the channel or event, and the tag appears with a distinctive icon. Readers click it to jump straight to that destination.

What Tagging Does

  • Clear context: Icons and links signal intent inside long threads.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I tag multiple channels or events in a single post?
Yes. Add as many as are useful, but keep the post readable. One or two well-placed tags usually pull more clicks than a wall of references.
Why does a channel I expect to see not appear in the picker?
The picker is permission aware and only lists channels and events you have access to. Confirm your group membership and channel-level permissions.
What do the icons next to a tag mean?
Icons distinguish channels from scheduled events so readers know what they will open before they click.
What happens when I tag an event that has already ended?
The tag still resolves, but the destination may open in a read-only or ended state depending on the event settings.
Does the # shortcut work in both posts and comments?
Yes. The same picker appears in both post and comment editors anywhere inside Communities.
